About thirty years ago, we played his records until they were worn out: Tonight’s the Night, American Stars and Bars, Zuma, After the Goldrush, Decade. Such beautiful music never got old. Eventually we had to play this music live ! Now we play more than 50 songs by Neil Young and we’re fascinated how these “brand new tunes with familiar chords” continue to inspire us.
With lead singer Henri de Vries on (acoustic) guitar, piano and harmonica, Gijsbert Diteweg on guitar, lapsteel and violin, singer Danya Plugge on bass and Bert Fonderie playing drums and singing, we’re able to bring to musical life the various facets of Neil Young’s music: rough electric, acoustic “country” and beautiful solo songs are part of the repertoire. Whether it be the close harmony, the varied solo work by Gijsbert or, last but not least, the vocal similarity of De Vries with Young, the sound of this Neil Young Tribute brings back home the most memorable music memories of the past.
